Van Buren State Park: A Lake Michigan Gem for RV Camping
A Lake Michigan Paradise: Van Buren State Park
We recently enjoyed a delightful midweek camping trip at Van Buren State Park in Michigan. This beautiful Lake Michigan beach park offers everything you could want in a coastal camping experience. One of its greatest attractions is the convenient walk from the campsites to the shoreline, which we happily made several times during our stay. Being situated on Lake Michigan's eastern shore treated us to spectacular sunset views on our first evening.
Dog-Friendly Features
Pet owners will appreciate the park's thoughtful amenities for four-legged campers. The park features both a designated dog beach and a scenic dog walking trail that winds through the woods adjacent to the campsite. While the park's trail system is limited due to its primary focus as a beach destination, several excellent hiking trails are just a short drive away.
Exploring South Haven
One of the park's advantages is its proximity to South Haven, Michigan. This quaint lakeside town offers a charming, walkable downtown area, complete with a scenic pier and its own beautiful beach. South Haven's beach facilities include convenient amenities such as restrooms and a concession stand near the parking area.
Planning Your Visit
While Van Buren State Park lies outside our standard delivery zone at Be Still RV Rentals, we still highly recommend this destination for those able to tow a RV. The combination of pristine beaches, pet-friendly spaces, and easy access to South Haven's attractions makes it an excellent choice for your next RV camping adventure.
Whether you're seeking a peaceful beach getaway, a dog-friendly camping experience, or a blend of nature and small-town charm, Van Buren State Park delivers on all fronts.
